The Personal Computer Museum, located North of Göteborg in the town of Stenungsund, was awarded a
record in the Guinness Book of Records because of the museum´s large collection of 250
different personal computers. |
| The exhibition of the oldest computers is called The Birth of
the Personal Computer. Here you can also learn about the entrepreneurs who created this
new line of business. The oldest Personal Computer, the Altair 8800 , is now only 23 years old. In 1995 the Internet C@fé was opened by the Governor of Göteborgs- and Bohus Län, Kjell A Mattsson. Here you can explore the net while you have an Internet bun. You can also have your coffee and bun outdoors on our beautiful lawn by the Hakefjord. "The Computer in your Home" is another exhibition, where you can try Home Accounting with payment by modem. There are also "Edutainment-programs" for the young ones, as well as multimedia and many computer games. The museum is a place for the whole family. You are welcome to use the computers and to try many different programs. You can learn in an easy way how the computer works from the mouse to satellite positioning. During the Summer both the PC-museum and the InternetC@fé are open every day from 10 am to 5 pm and Wednesdays to 8 pm. During the Winter you are welcome to visit us on Wednesdays 10 am to 8 pm If you prebook your visit with a group we are happy to receive you every day, show you the collections and let you try the different computers and programs.
